The National Association of Economic Educators (NAEE) is the professional association of economic educators. NAEE works closely with the Council for Economic Education.

The goals of the Association are to:

  • Encourage and support academically sound, objective, non-partisan programs in economic education at all levels.
  • Enhance communication and exchange of ideas among economic educators.
  • Work closely with the National Council in planning, implementing, and evaluating the activities and programs conducted through the CEE-affiliated councils and centers.

Purpose

As the principal professional association for economic educators, the association provides opportunities for the professional growth and recognition of its members through conferences, publications, and awards. The Association articulates concerns, needs, and long-term goals in the field; forges new and needed initiatives; and represents the profession to its various audiences.

Membership

Full membership in NAEE is open to persons who have specifically designated professional responsibilities in economic education and are employed in a Center for Economic Education or a state Council on Economic Education affiliated with the National Council. Full members have voting privileges.

Associate membership may be extended by the NAEE Executive Committee for one year at a time to any former member of the Association who is no longer eligible for full membership and to any individual who expresses interest in the goals and mission of the Association. Associate members are assessed a reduced level of dues and are non-voting members.

Honorary membership is extended to individuals who have been elected to such distinction by the NAEE Executive Committee. Honorary members are non-voting members and are not assessed dues.

Memberships extend from October 1 to September 30. Each member receives a yearly subscription to the NAEE newsletter, FORUM, and may be included on the association's e-mail network, NAEENET.

To join the National Association of Economic Educators, print the membership form at the top of this page and send $50 for full membership or $40 for associate membership to:
