YESS! Mini-Society

(Youth Empowerment & Self Sufficiency) program is a hands-on economics unit for intermediate elementary and middle school students funded by the Ewing Marion Kaufmann Foundation. It is geared to teach entrepreneurial skills and help students understand economic concepts by creating a society in their classroom.

The curriculum uses an experience-based, self-organizing, interdisciplinary approach to teach youths ages 8 to 12 about entrepreneurship, decision making and critical thinking while enhancing learning in mathematics, reading and other core subject areas andencouraging the exploration of personal values.

YESS! Mini-Society is also being offered outside the traditional education system through existing youth organization networks.
