Grade 3:
  • DAILY LIVING-Identify businesses that produce goods and services in Omaha focusing on supply and demand.
  • CAREER CONNECTIONS-Describe careers in math/ economics related areas.
  • GLOBAL COMMUNITIES-Compare Omaha's economy to the economies of Germany, Japan and Zimbabwe.
Grade 4:
  • DAILY LIVING-Explain the steps necessary to develop and participate in a mini-society as an economic simulation.
  • CAREER CONNECTIONS-Describe the preparation and skills necessary for careers in math/ economics related areas.
  • GLOBAL COMMUNITIES-Compare Nebraska's economy to the economies of China and the Ukraine.
Grade 5:
  • DAILY LIVING-Identify short/ long term savings goals and ways to invest money.
  • CAREER CONNECTIONS-Describe the preparation and skills necessary for careers in math/ economics related areas.
  • GLOBAL COMMUNITIES-Describe the influence of immigration on the U.S. economy, past and present.
Grade 6:
  • DAILY LIVING-Compare the monetary system of the U.S. with systems from other countries.
  • CAREER CONNECTIONS-Describe the preparation and skills necessary for careers in math/ economics related areas.
  • GLOBAL COMMUNITIES-Research international trade relationships between the U.S. and its trading partners, focusing on resources, specialization and standard of living.
