" Conestoga Magnet Center's approach to comparing the United States' way of living with those of other countries provides students with a broad understanding of many different cultural aspects and traditions. By studying these cultures, students are breaking down barriers by learning to understand and celebrate the unique difference of others."

Seminar for visiting Ukrainians hosted by the UNO Center
The UNO Center hosted an on-campus seminar December 14th for civil servants and educators from the Donetsk region of Ukraine. The visiting Ukrainians are seated at the table; standing behind them are the Center staff, representatives from the Nebraska Business Development Center and the AIM Institute, and John Christensen, interim Chancellor of UNO.
The various UNO representatives described programs and projects in the College of Business Administration, the School of Public Administration, the Nebraska Business Development Center and the Center for Economic Education.

North High School SMG project 2002:
Alan Fanning's honors economics students have been working with the sixth graders in 4 classrooms to teach them the basics of stock market investing. During the fall semester, the high school students traveled to Skinner Magnet Center to work on economics lessons in the classrooms. In the spring semester, teams of 6th graders participated in the Stock Market Game sponsored by the Nebraska Council on Economic Education. Each team had student mentors from the North High class. A grant from SIA Foundation paid for their entry fees. The culminating event was a pizza party for all the mentor teachers and students from Skinner hosted at North. It was great experience for 6th graders and their high school mentors from Alan's class shown in this photo. Alan has sponsored this classroom project for the last three years at North High with coordination from Gay Thompson at Skinner Magnet Center.
