2007 Students Award Banquet

Our warmest thanks to Michele Wulff for 10 years of wonderful collaboration.

In May, 2007, the UNO Center hosted an Outstanding Economics Student dinner for students in grades two to eight at Conestoga Economics Magnet and RM Marrs Middle School Magnet. Parents, teachers and students celebrated outstanding work all year in economics. Congratulations to all of the award winners for 2007!

This dinner was supported by a NCEE Excellence in Education grant and a partnership of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City-Omaha Branch.

More Magnet School Information

Since 2001, the UNO Center for Economic Education has had ongoing relationship with the Omaha Public Schools' two economics-themed magnet schools. The UNO Center works with each school's economic specialist to provide professional training in economics and personal finance for faculty. We assist in writing and reviewing economics standards, help select appropriate curriculum materials, and design assessments as needed. The Center is currently designing a model elementary economic curriculum to be posted on this website in the future for others wishing to add economics themes to their K-6 curriculum.

The UNO Center assists the two magnet schools by helping them make connections to community partners and create special projects, such as setting up savings branches of Wells Fargo Bank in the schools. The UNO Center hosts the end-of-year outstanding economics student recognition dinner for teachers and parents and supports the Econ Olympics held each year at the two schools.
