Welcome to our South African visitors! March 10-15, 2009 the UNO Center hosted guests as part of an Economics International Study Tour sponsored by the Council on Economic Education. The guests were from South Africa and participated in the Council's Train-the-Trainers programs in 2007-08. Pictured from the left: Jim Dick and Mary Lynn Reiser, UNO Center, Vincent Feltman, Dion Prins, William Austin, UNO, and Lodi Van Deventer. Mr. Feltman, Prins, and Van Deventer will return to South Africa and continue to establish Centers of Economic Education at their home institutions.

In Fall, 2005, the UNO Center hosted two visitors (Imeda Kochauri and Tariel Giorgadze) from the country of Georgia.

UNO Center Hosts Kazakhstan Visitors
The UNO Center for Economic Education hosted two visitors from Kazakhstan in April, 2004 -- Adilzhan Tumatov and Alexandr Astapkov -- at the UNO Center for Economic Education in Omaha, NE. The Center showed the visitors how economic education is delivered in elementary, high schools, and universities in the area. Press release and more information.

Crestridge School is the Recipient of Three Grants for International Studies Week Activities
Crestridge School for International/Global Studies, in partnership with the University of Nebraska at Omaha, has been awarded a grant from the National Council on Economic Education to conduct activities in observance of International Studies Week. International Studies Week, usually held the second week of November, has been sponsored by the United States State Department for the purpose of encouraging schools to include international studies in their curriculum. The National Council on Economic Education funds special programs for this observance. The goal of this program is to make students aware of the role economics has in international studies.
